RATIONALE 

The purpose of this learning programme is to prepare students for successful careers in insurance and risk management. It provides learners with the basic knowledge of the aspects of risk management and insurance, in order to occupy roles in insurance consulting, insurance brokerage and underwriting.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

Applicants will be admitted to this Learning Programme on the basis of one of the following: 

1. Applicants must have obtained at least three credits at Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (NCQF Level IV) or its equivalent including a pass in English language OR
2. Special Entry: Candidates who do not have the minimum academic qualifications stated above, but have five years relevant work experience in a related field, will be considered upon satisfying the requirements of the RPL that might include an entrance interview. 

PROGRAMME DURATION 

The programme would run on both full time and part time arrangement. The Certificate programme will run over duration of 12 months (1 year) for full-time learners and 18 months (1.5 years) for part-time learners.
