This serves as a report of the educational farm field visit conducted on Wednesday the 24 of August 2022 with a class of 7 (seven) BCom Entrepreneurship Y3S1 students studying Innovation and Technology BEN3201.
The educational tour to Sunny Side Farm (Lobatse) was organized and facilitated by Mr. P.T. Guruwo. The field visit was in line with the Faculty of Commerce goal number 1, which seeks to provide a “unique student experience” that positively transforms learners beyond academic success and graduation.
Through inculcating applied entrepreneurship in the curriculum, the visit made potent contributions to the students and improved the visibility of BIU in the society. Moreover, the trip fills the gap of community engagement as one of the three core tenets of any university. The trip also cemented relations between BA ISAGO University (BIU) and the industry, inspired students to appreciate the use of innovation and technology in agribusiness and brought a wealth of current information to BIU entrepreneurship students on issues of entrepreneurial ventures.
