The objectives of the Faculty are to promote excellence in teaching, learning and research, to produce graduates who are critical thinkers and to educate and train high level human resources in support of sustainable development and community service, to produce responsible citizens whose respect for human dignity is based on both philosophies.
Through its high quality staff profile, the Faculty is committed to serving the needs of Botswana and the region by producing graduates who are better equipped to deal with development issues and the challenges that face the economy of Botswana and beyond.
The Faculty of Commerce has four Departments namely, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Accounting and Finance, Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Sciences. Each Department offers a range of Programmes.

Accounting is “the language of business” and is an essential part of every business organization. The study of accounting helps students develop analytical and problem-solving skills as well as master the principles that govern financial reporting and decision making. A career in accounting can take many directions – from auditing, tax advising and consulting to financial management, banking and criminal investigation.
