Mr. Odirile B. Gabasiane
Mr. Gabasiane holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and English and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Botswana.
His career began in 1986 as a History and English Teacher and later Head of Department at Moeng College. In 1990, he was appointed Education Attaché by the Government of Botswana based in London, covering Australia, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland and Southern Europe. In 1997, he moved to Pretoria as Education Attaché to set up the first Education Office, following the new political dispensation in SA.
Having gained a wealth of experience and exposure in the field of tertiary education, in 1999, he founded BA ISAGO Institute, which primarily offered school leavers with Career Guidance and Counselling. Mr. Gabasiane placed many of them in tertiary education institutions in SADC and abroad. The Institute also ran the first ever Career Expos in Gaborone, which attracted most notable higher education institutions in the region (1999-2001).
In February 2002, together with his wife, Mrs Ruth Gabasiane, they founded BA ISAGO Institute, together with two other Citizen Shareholders, (Mothati B. Gabasiane and Diba V. K. Mogegeh) which was established as BA ISAGO University College in Francistown.
Under the stewardship of Mr. Gabasiane, BA ISAGO proudly obtained full University status from the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) in June 2015.
The University, with a curriculum of nearly 100 study programmes, is also running Campuses in Francistown and Maun. Between its Campuses, it has a staff complement of almost 300 to 3000 students, pursuing under and post graduate programmes.
As an entrepreneur, his business philosophy is anchored on hard work, commitment, resilience and promoting human capital development in Botswana and the SADC Region, as well as creating more avenues, prospects and opportunities for the youth in the country and beyond.
Apart from being an entrepreneur in education, he is increasingly venturing into commercial agriculture, with focal interest and emphasis on being a grower and producer of landscaping plants and trees, as well as fruit trees. He considers the latter as his ultimate contribution to Botswana’s economy-very much resonating well with his strong passion for landscaping and promoting a green ecosystem as evidently pronounced at BA ISAGO University.
Mr Gabasiane is married to Mrs. Ruth Gabasiane and has been blessed with four children (two sons and two daughters).
