RATIONALE 

Occupational Health and Safety is a field concerned with creating an environment that is conducive for work by protecting the health, Safety and welfare of workers/employees. This program is designed to introduce learners to the theory and practice of Occupational Health and Safety through a combination of teaching methods.

The programme is aimed, principally, at providing the labour market with graduates who can operate as independent consultants, or be employed fulltime in both the public and private sectors as:

• Managers and Administrators in Occupational Health and Safety and related fields

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

1. Candidates must have obtained at least four (4) Credits at BGCSE (or equivalent) including a pass in English language. OR 
2. Candidates must have completed a relevant 12 months Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) recognised and accredited Certificate Programme in Accounting. OR 
3. Special Entry: Candidates who do not have minimum academic qualifications stated above but have a minimum of three years relevant work experience will be considered. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be used as an instrument for further assessment of mature-age entry candidates. 

Note: All pre-service applicants must successfully complete the BA ISAGO six months Foundation/Access/ Bridging Courses 

PROGRAMME DURATION 

The Programme is run over a period of 30 months (2 1/2 years).
