RATIONALE
The Certificate in Real Estate is designed for pre-service and in-service candidates already in employment in the real estate industry, who are keen to acquire knowledge and skills in order to acquire formal qualifications. Practicing individuals, from both private and public sectors, will merge the practical knowledge they have gathered with up-to-date global trends in the Real Estate Industry. Knowledge gained will enhance productivity and professionalism, and allow graduates to gain recognition from the Real Estate Institute of Botswana (REIB), as per the Real Estate Professionals Act of 2003. The programme acts as a foundation and entry level qualification.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Upon completion, graduates will be able to work competently in the Real Estate Industry as:
- Property Valuers
- Facilities Managers
- Property Managers
- Real Estate Agents
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Candidates must have obtained their BGCSE qualification and have achieved at least three credits (3) and a pass in English Language. OR
- Special Entry: Candidates who do not have the minimum academic qualifications as stated above, but have a minimum of two years uninterrupted industrial experience in real estate, will be considered. In such cases candidates will have to undergo interviews for in-depth assessment, and meet the Academic Affairs Board requirements.
PROGRAMME DURATION
The programme is taught over a period of twelve (12) months.
