The Botswana government, through the Department of Tertiary Education and Financing (DTEF), offers sponsorship opportunities to eligible students meeting required academic cut-off points. BA ISAGO University works closely with DTEF to support students in accessing financial aid for tertiary education at reputable institutions.

 

Sponsorship Applications Overview

The Department of Tertiary Education and Financing (DTEF) provides sponsorship to qualifying students in accordance with criteria published annually. Placement is coordinated through accredited institutions, including BA ISAGO.

Current Sponsorship Administration Includes:
  • Local Public and Private Tertiary Institutions
  • Accredited regional and international institutions
Eligibility Criteria for New Students:
  • Must be Botswana citizens who are not gainfully employed.
  • Must complete studies before age thirty-five
  • Minimum cut-off is 36 points
  • Upgraded results must meet the cut-off
  • OVC, RAC and SEN applicants require a minimum of 31 points and Social Welfare certification.
Eligibility Criteria for Progression Students:
  • Based on recognition of prior learning
  • Limited to prioritised sponsorship field.
Eligibility Criteria for Re-sponsorship Students:
  • Must not be under current sponsorship
  • All outstanding modules must be completed within one academic year
  • Must not have previously received re-sponsorship
  • Must submit a complete transcript and financial clearance.

Sponsorship Application Process
  • Download and submit the Loan Application Form with all supporting documents to the Department of Tertiary Education and Financing at Block 6, Plot 37893, Universal Estate, Sephatlhaphatlha Road
  • Receive an acknowledgement letter upon submission
  • Placement Officers assess applications
  • Successful applicants are captured in the Student Loan Management System
  • Sponsorship Letters are generated and signed by the Head of Divisionn.
Required Supporting Documents
  • Admission letter indicating programme name and duration
  • Certified copy of National Identification Card (Omang)
  • Certified copy of results or certificate
  • Affidavit of names where applicable
  • Social Inquiry Report and confirmation letters for OVC applicants
  • Confirmation letter for Rural Area Children applicants
  • Detailed assessment report for Special Education Needs applicants
