From a Ten-Year Wait to First-Class Success! 

Sometimes, the road to your dreams takes longer than you imagined. But as one BA ISAGO University Student has discovered, a delayed dream is not a denied dream. 

After completing high school Boitumelo Lebaleng’s the journey to university did not happen immediately. Almost ten years passed before the opportunity finally came. At 29 she began a Bachelor of Science in Facilities Management at BA ISAGO University. 

For some, starting university at 29 might have felt like being late. But Boitumelo never allowed age to stand in the way of her dream. 

“When BA ISAGO University accepted me, it felt like a new chapter had begun in my life,” the Student shares. 

She indicates that from the very beginning, the experience has been one of encouragement, support and opportunity. Lecturers welcomed her with open arms, while their patience, kindness and guidance helped make the university journey a memorable one. 

Today, that perseverance is paying off, Lebaleng is proudly achieving first-class results and has embraced opportunities beyond the classroom. 

Through the support and investment of BA ISAGO University, she had the opportunity to travel to Ghana and represent both the University and herself. She has also attended several conferences, with the University sponsoring attendance and transportation costs. 

The journey has also opened doors to valuable industry exposure, including a job-shadowing opportunity with Dikago Facilities Solutions, providing practical experience and an opportunity to connect classroom learning with the world of work. 

And there is even more to the story, Boitumelo currently serves as the President of the BA ISAGO University Facilities Management Club (BIUFMaC), demonstrating that university life is not only about earning a qualification, but also about leadership, participation and making the most of every opportunity. 

Looking back, she says the ten-year wait is no longer seen as lost time and instead a period of preparation that taught her one powerful lesson: never give up on your dreams. 

“Like the bamboo tree that spends years developing its roots before rising above the ground, success often requires patience, preparation and perseverance,” said Boitumelo who added that her journey is proof that your background does not determine your future, your age does not define your potential, and your past failures do not decide your destiny. 

For Lebaleng, BA ISAGO University was more than a place to study. It became a place where a new chapter could begin, a place that provided an opportunity to rewrite her story, discover her potential and work towards a brighter future. 

“The future belongs to those who refuse to quit,” said Lebaleng.
